Course Objectives
1. to improve integrated professional aspects of the students and a global technical infrastructure in the beginning phase of their education period,
2. to provide the basic skills for the students for their future basic engineering and professional design courses with a level of an engineering student and with higher performance,
3. to facilitate a mental combination of the basic theories presented in different courses in various ways.
Course Description
Profession as an institution, historical evaluation of engineering, techno-science, historical roots of surveying and mapping profession, transformation of the geodesy and photogrammetry engineering into geomatics, national and international professional associations and organizations, professional applications of geomatics, relationship of geomatics with other disciplines and it’s contribution to complex engineering projects, things to do for sustainable professional skills
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to:
I. examine the concepts of professional responsibility, public consciousness, service and duty,
II. analyze the relationship between the professional nature of Geomatic Engineering and the contents of courses,
III. know how to produce the data/information using the most appropriate technique in each application
IV. improve opinion about updating, sustainability and both the social and the professional issues of the age
