Course Objectives 1. To introduce topics related to ecology and the natural environment
2. To give basic information about different ecosystems
3. To provide fundamentals of organization in ecosystems
4. To support comprehension of the response of nature to man caused stresses such as pollution and overexploitation
5. To provide the fundamentals of ecological engineering
Course Description Ecosystems. Energy flow and organization in ecosystems. Population ecology. Community ecology. Ecological cycles. Terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Constructed ecosystems. Current ecological problems.
Course Outcomes Students completing this course will be able to;
I.Learn the basic concepts related to ecology
II.Learn energy and material cycles in nature
III.Receive fundamental information on organization in ecosystems
IV.Gain knowledge about different ecosystems
V.Receive basic information on constructed ecosystems and their utilization in engineering and production
