Course Objectives 1. To learn basic concepts of hydrology
2. To learn how to derive basic design information for environmental engineering structures
Course Description Water cycle, watersheds, precipitation, evaporation, infiltration, groundwater, surface runoff, hydrometry, hydrograph analysis, urban drainage, statistical methods in hydrology
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course will be able to:
I. Understand the water cycle
II. Understand how to analyze hydrological and meterological data
III. Learn the basic concepts related to watersheds
IV. Understand fundamental methods and calculations in hydrology
V. Derive the water budget for a hydrological system
VI. Derive the basic hydrological information for engineering design
VII. Use statistical methods in hydrology
Pre-requisite(s) AKM204 or AKM204E
Required Facilities Students use computer in order to do their homeworks.
