Course Objectives
1. To give the fundamental concepts of ethics, professional ethics and engineering ethics,
2. To give the engineering ethical codes,
3. To give ethical concepts in context of engineering ethics, environmental engineering applications and international conventions,
4. To give an ability to develop of ethical basis of thinking, reasoning and decision making.
Course Description
Fundamental concepts for professional ethics, engineering ethics in practice and ethics. Codes of engineering ethics. Environmental ethics. Environmental policies. International conventions.
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to:
I. Understand the definition of ethics, the philosophical and practical aspects of ethics,
II. Understand the necessity of professional ethics,
III. Understand the different aspects of ethics and ethical theories,
IV. Understand the fundamentals of ethics in practice,
V. Understand the engineering ethics and ethical codes in engineering,
VI. Understand environmental ethics, environmental policies and conventions,
VII. Gain the ability to apply of engineering ethical codes on applications,
VIII. Gain the ability to apply of professional ethical codes on applications in environmental engineering area.
