Course Objectives
1. To teach main principles of soil mechanics
2. To give the main information about the introduction of foundation engineering
3. To discuss the subjects of design and application of foundation construction
Course Description
Physical and index properties of soils. Soil classification, Compaction, Hydraulic Properties, Cappilarity, Permeability, Frost effect, Effective and total stresses, Pore water pressures, Stress-Strain relationships for soils, Consolidation of clays, Shear strength, Lateral earth pressures
