Course Objectives 1. To provide knowledge on basic concepts about air pollution and atmosphere
2. To give an ability to do calculations about incineration and incineration products
3. To give an ability to do calculations about air pollutant concentrations
Course Description Introduction. Fundamentals of air pollution and its control. Thermodynamic approaches and
chemical kinetics on atmosphere and air pollution subjects. Photochemical reactions and
photochemical smog. Combustion, general principles. Measurement methods of air pollution.
Sampling: basic principles, sampling in ambient air, point sources. Conventional and specific
parameters.
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course successfully will be able to:
I. Comprehend basic concepts about air pollution
II. Calculate concentrations about air pollution
III. Evaluate air pollutants
IV. Comprehend basic concepts about the atmosphere
V. Have a basic knowledge of atmospheric reactions
VI. Do calculations about combustion and air pollution due to combustion products
VII. Find the sampling methods for the determination of air pollution
VIII. Know about the legislations related to air pollution
