Course Objectives By means of this course, students learn the fundamental concepts and methods of information technology and possess the knowledge of the potential within Geomatics Engineering. Students will be able to design a process, component or a system and gain the skills of using/developing software relevant to Geomatics Engineering.
Course Description Within this course, rapidly developing information technologies that are also the core components of Geomatics Engineering is introduced and their importance with Geomatics Engineering discipline is emphasized. Furthermore, several concepts and methods of information technology such as fundamentals, human computer interaction, system architecture, data structures, data analyses, multi-media technologies and applications, computer graphics, object oriented approach is explained in order to aid solving Geomatics Engineering specific problems. This course also contains developing software for spatial applications.
Course Outcomes Students who completes this course successfully;

1 Creates a basic web-page, implement and publish the study on internet
2 Realize the importance of internet, computer and software –hardware technologies and keep abreast of them.
3 Analyze the acquired digital data using relevant technologies (hardware& software)
4 Classifies basic data structures for 2D/3D computer graphics (raster-vector, RGB-CMYK) and uses mathematical relations and hardware.
5 Establish and design the relationship between object and the visualized theme via using the application tools.
6 Recognizes CAD programs user interfaces and use them for technical drawings and other basic commands. (scaling, shifting, projection, crop ..etc)
7 Ability to use geometrical modeling methods to define curve, surface and three dimensional objects.
8 Comment and implement applications schemes that are formulated via UML diagrams.
