Course Objectives

1. To teach concepts and methods of databases in engineering.
2. To be able to database design and implementation.
3. To teach how databases can be used for problem solving and analyzing.
4. Develop applications involving database systems in particular using SQL and Access.

Course Description

Introduction to database, Fundamentals of database systems, Data models, Entity-Relationship Model, Hierarchical model, Network database model, Relational model, Object Oriented model, SQL (Structured Query Language), Spatial Databases, Web based Databases.
