The course involves the study of basic data structures (eg, stack, queue, list, tree, binary search tree, heap) and associated algorithms.

To introduce basic data structures and algorithms for manipulating them.
To provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge to analyse the data structure needs of particular problems.
To provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge to compare the efficiency of various algorithms.
