Course Objectives
To provide a general overview of computer and information security.
To discuss basic challenges about computer and information security.
To teach methods of securing a computer and information system.
To ensure that students have the necessary research skills to investigate and present a specific security topic.
Course Description
Introduction to computer and information security. Basic cryptography. Human factors in computer and information security. Discussing security vulnerabilities and threats. Introducing malicious software. Principles of user authentication and access control. Concepts of software security, network security, and trusted computing. Understanding physical and infrastructure security. Emerging issues related to computer and information security. Doing a research on a specific topic about computer and information security and presenting it onto an audience.
