Course Objectives
1. To teach fundamental concepts of cryptography.
2. To teach basic mathematics for cryptography.
3. To teach classical cryptography.
Course Description
This course covers the fundamental mathematics for principles of cryptography and historical cryptographic algorithms. Classical cryptography: introduction: some simple cryptosystems, cryptanalysis of simple cryptosystems. Shannon's theory: probability theory, entropy, properties of entropy, product crypto systems.
Course Outcomes
1. Ability to understand cryptographic algorithms.
2. Understand the mathematical foundations of cryptographic algorithms.
3. Understanding areas of use of cryptographic algorithms.
