Course Objectives 1. To introduce students with principles of constructing and designing a manufacturing system from raw material input to finished goods.
2. To teach how to analyze a manufacturing system and to design a factory based on a manufacturing system.
Course Description Introduction to linear programming (LP). Graphical and simplex methods. Application of LP to MPC problems: Stock Management, Aggregate Planning. Production activity control. Theory of Constraints. Assembly Line balancing. Scheduling. Facility layout

1. Analyze a manufacturing process with its sublevels, (c)
2. Construct an economic manufacturing layout considering factors such as material flow and manufacturing variables, (c, h)
3. Apply mathematical methods to solve manufacturing problems. (a, e, k)
