MAK 384 - Mechanical Power Transmission

Course Objectives

1. Introduction to some special power transmission elements not covered in undergraduate courses.
2. A general approach to problems and solutions encountered in a wide variety of systems used for power transmission.
3. The aim is to be able to write the equation of motion of a simple power transmission system.

Course Description

Speed-torque characteristics and other defining properties of motor components and driven machinery. Overview of speed-changing machines. Mechanisms used for speed adjustment, stepped and stepless speed adjustment. Modeling of steady-state and transient behavior in power transmission, equations of motion.
