JEO 311 - Slope Stability Analysis

Course Objectives

1. To teach basic concepts and terminology of slope stability.
2. To teach soil slope calculations and slope arrangements.
3. To teach il slope calculations and slope arrangements.
4. To teach how to use stability charts.

Course Description

Evaluating the slopes which are formed in natural environments (rocks, soil) and controlled filling by manmade using basic stability analysis methods, determining the critical slip surface, calculating the smallest friction safety (FS) number of slopes, slope design in rock and ground environments, how to use stability charts.
