Course Objectives
1.To solve SHM and AWE.
2. Preliminary sonar design based on the properties of sea water etc.
3.To understand basic information on sound propagation
Course Description
Uses of sound in the ocean, simple harmonic motion, acoustical wave equation, sound pressure levels, volumetric absorption, Sonar design, directivity, beamforming, ray theory, underwater noise
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to 1.Solve SHM equations
2.Understand and solve AWE
3.Preliminary design of sonar based on sea water properties etc. 4.understand sound propagation and directivity
5.Perform Fourier analysis
6.Understand underwater noise
