DEN 345E - Dynamics of Marine Ecosystems

Course Objectives

1. To increase the awareness of the students that marine science is an interdisciplinary study.
2. To have information about the physical processes in the marine environment (wave, tide, current, vertical displacement of the water columns etc.).
3. To understand that any physical process comes with the consequences of chemical and biological effects.

Course Description

Comprehending the effect of physical processes in the marine environment on the biological components. Defining the physical, chemical and biological components of the marine ecosystems. The effect of boundary layers on the life of the marine organisms. Classification of the marine environment for different vertical depths. Examination of the physical processes occur in different depths including the biological and chemical aspects.
