Course Objectives
The goal of this course is to provide the students information on concrete manufacturing, properties and uses of concrete in marine structures such as marinas, offshore platforms, wavebreakers etc. along with corrosion of concrete and steel in marine environment.
Course Description
Introduction to concrete technology, elements of concrete. Granulometry. Aggregates. Properties of concrete, how to manufacture concrete? Steel, properties of steel used in reinforced concrete. Reinforced concrete. Strength of concrete. Uses of concrete in marine structures. Corrosion in marine environment.
