Course Objectives
Information about Naval Ships , Naval Ship Design and differences with commercial ship design is presented.
Course Description
Definition of warships, their types, roles, doctrines, classification. Historical development of warships, trends in warship design. Naval weapon systems, their integration with the warship platform. Hull, structures, propulsion, stability, seakeeping, signatures and their management. Materials used in warships. Principals of warship general arrangement plan preparation. Prediction and control of performance parameters for warships. General principles of warship contracts. Future warships. Systems and subsystems of a warship, and their design principles. Mines, mine warfare. Submarines, design and construction principles.
