Course Objectives 1. To teach the students general terminology and consept,
2. To give the knowledge about fire fighting, risks in shipyards, lifting equipment, etc.,
3. To make students conscious of basic occupational health and first aid topics,
4. To make students conscious about some serious industrial accidents,
5. To teach emergency response procedures and their applications.
Course Description The Naval Architecture and Marine Engineers work in a heavy industry environment. In this lecture, it is aimed to teach students about possible industrial hazards and risks in the working environment and related preventive actions.
Course Outcomes Students will be able to,
1. Know general terminology of the subject,
2. Have the knowledge about managing risks in a shipyard,
3. Understand risk analysis and emergency procedures, Outcomes) 4. Know about fire fighting, electrical works and lifting equipment and their risks as well as the
preventive actions,
5. Have information about working at high and precautions,
6. Know about how to work in confined spaces,
7. Have enough awareness about national and international safety regulations,
8. Know basic Manual Handling applications,
