GEM 211E - Ship Geometry

Course Objectives

1. Understanding basic principles of the ship geometry
2. Learning to draw a lines plan by reducing 3D ship geometry to 2D drawings.
3. Performing simple hydrostatic calculations

Course Description

Introduction to ship geometry and main characteristics of the hull, Station, waterline and profile views and drawings of the lines on those planes. Lines plans of Series 60 and a up-to-date ship geometry, nondimensional form coefficients.
