Course Objectives

The aims is to learn basic concepts and practical applications of recombinant DNA techniques and to provide a solid background to recombinant DNA technology and demonstrate the power of emerging technologies for gene identification and cloning and genomic manipulation

Course Description

Basic techniques, cutting and joining DNA molecules, cloning vectors, cloning strategies, recombinant selection and screening, expression of cloned DNA molecules, DNA sequencing, PCR, changing the genes:site directed mutagenesis, gene transfer to plant and animal cells
