Course Objectives		1. to introduce the concepts of basic weaves, woven fabric and weaving preparation parameters 2. to introduce weaving preparation machines 3. to give an ability to efficiently use of weaving preparation machines 4. to give an ability to make weaving preparation calculations.
Course Description		Basic patterns (plain weave, twill, satin), simple applications of drawing-in and lifting plan, introduction to weaving technique, basic motions in weaving, woven fabric calculations (yarn density, weight, cover factor calculation), explanation, teaching and calculation of direct warping, conical warping, sizing, knotting, drawing-in and other machines.
Course Outcomes		Students who pass the course will have: I. information about basic weaving parameters II. ability to make fabric calculations according to the information given above III. ability to recognize and use of the weaving preparation machines efficiently IV. ability to adjust process parameters of the weaving preparation machines according to a fabric type V. ability to make all weaving preparation calculations for a fabric type (regarding to fabric end use, type).
