TEK 234E - Weaving Technology I

Course Objectives

1. To introduce the concepts of basic weaves, woven fabric and weaving preperation parameters
2. To introduce weaving preparation machines
3. To give an ability to efficiently use of weaving preparation machines
4. To give an ability to calculate weaving preparation calculations

Course Description

Basic patterns (plain weave, twill, satin), simple applications of drawing-in and lifting plan, introduction to
weaving technique, basic motions in weaving, woven fabric calculations (yarn density, weight, cover factor
calculation), explanation, teaching and calculation of direct warping, conical warping, sizing, knotting,
drawing-in and other machines.
