Course Objectives 1. To teach basic knowledge about textile finishing.
2. To teach conducting chemical experiments and assessment of their results.
Course Description Dyestuff chemistry and mechanism of dyeing processes, surfactants used in textile and their interaction mechanisms, determination and assessment of water hardness, color according to light and pigment theories.
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course will have:
I. Basic knowledge about conventional dyestuff,
II. Ability to choose appropriate dyestuff considering fiber type,
III. General knowledge on surfactants and their interaction mechanism,
IV. Ability to identify process water,
V. Ability to evaluate and assess spectrophotometric color measurement results,
VI. Ability to conduct elementary chemical experiments on the topics which are taught in the course.
