Course Objectives The objectives of the course are:
1. to teach the basics of knitting technology the students
2. to inform students about different knitted fabrics and their properties
Course Description Definition of knitting and classification of knitting technology, basic principles of weft knitting technology, circular and flat knitting technologies for special applications, knitted fabric analysis, faults in knitted fabric production and remedies. Main principles of warp knitting technology
Course Outcomes At the end of the course, the students will have:
1. a knowledge of different knitting technologies,
2. an ability to recognize different knitted fabrics and to analyze them,
3. an ability to identify, analyze, and solve knitting problems,
4. an ability to improve knitting efficiency and/or knitted fabric quality
Pre-requisite(s) TEK 221 MIN DD
veya/or TEK 231E MIN DD
veya/or TEK 233E MIN DD
Required Facilities Hand knitting machine and basic tools for fabric analyses
Other Available video and some other visual demonstrations of some knitting machinery companies may be introduced during the term in spare times of students.
There will be only one assessment criteria, i.e; Final Exam (percentage is 100%).
(Some question related to ABET will be presented to students before Final Exam and these questions related with ABET will be asked during Final Exam.
These ABET questions will have certain percentage effect on Final Exam such as 10 Point etc…, this will be announced before Final Exam
