Course Objectives
1. To give information about functional knitted fabrics
2. To teach how to apply knitwear research to design original collections for knits, Santoni seamless knits.
3. To teach appropriate methods of design development, design creativity, and media rendering techniques
Course Description
In this course, students design Active Sportswear, Intimate Apparel/ Shapewear, and Knitwear using a range of innovative fabrications. Students will use all levels of research and inspiration appropriate to designing a fashion collection. Students will develop a “Creative Process Journal” to record each collection.
Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
I. Present design concepts in a concise and clear manner (verbally, digitally, visually, etc.).
II. Explore and assess creative and functional ideas to resolve the design challenge.
III. Demonstrate, organize, and apply critical thinking in design development
IV. Further develop a personal understanding about the aesthetics, functionality, and purpose/s of wearable design.
