Course Objectives
1. To give knowledge about the properties of the fibres that can be spun and the effect of fiber properties on yarn properties.
2. To teach the basic computations used during yam production.
3. To teach each process from obtaining fiber to the beginning of roving process.
4. To give an ability to determine the differences between long and short staple production processes.
5. To teach the basic principles of filament yarn production.
Course Description
Description of fiber properties important for spinnability. Explanation of basic computations used during yarn production. Classification and explanation of short and long staple yarn production technologies. Description of machines and processes used in the production of long and short staple yarns until the spinning stage.
