MBL 551E - Digital Culture in Crea.Indus.

Course Objectives

1. To discuss contemporary approaches to digital design and technology through relevant theoretical positions and paradigms;
2. To enable critical debate on the current state of the art of the employment of digital design tools, creative industries (art, cinema, architecture, game and product design, cyberspace design) and the new processes of generation of design object, consumption and economy, public and individual applications;
3. To enable projections towards multiple futures of the design profession and consecutive relations among cyberspace, creative industries and human interaction.

Course Description

In the context of digital culture in creative industries: Digital theory, designing for creative economy and consumption, employment of digital tools in creative industries: Cyberspace, art, music, cinema, video games, product design, social aspect of creative industries: Distributed democracy, enhancing public sphere, changing human behaviour, mobility, interactivity, identity; new place making and architecture; Collaboration, networks, visual-auditory information systems; augmented reality, emergent technologies; related research areas.
