Course Description
Introduction to functional polymers. Structure of polymer molecules.Design and production of new functional monomers. Polymerization of functional monomers. Modification methods for synthesis of functional polymers. Polymer supported chemical reactions. Polymeric catalysts: Polymer bonded metal catalysts and phase transfer catalysts on polymers.Synthesis and applications of polymeric resins. Synthesis, characterizations and applications of liquid crystalline polymers. Microlithography. Solar energy and biomedical applications of functional polymers.
