Course Objectives To study restoration/conservation techniques of buildings having different construction techniques and structures and different problems in various countries of the world; To be able to master English terminology in the field of architectural conservation
Course Description An overview of the restoration practices of various countries and the organization of the area of building repairs; The nature of building restorations in selected countries (European, Asian, American and African countries); Introduction of various techniques and methods; Country / culture-specific approaches; Monumental restoration examples; Traditional techniques and advanced technology applications; Case-studies; English restoration terminology.
Course Outcomes To be able to develop and deepen knowledge in the field of restoration at the level of expertise;
To be able to interpret the knowledge acquired in the field of restoration by integrating it with information from different disciplines;
To be able to conduct an independent study related to the field;
To be able to evaluate the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of restoration with a critical approach;
To be able to make written and oral presentations in English;
To be able to use information technologies in presentations;
Observing social, scientific, cultural and ethical values at the stages of data collection, interpretation, and implementation
