Course Objectives

1. Provide knowledge about biomaterials and thier characterization.
2. Introduce testing techniques for characterization of biomaterials.
3. Make familiar to applications of biomaterials such as implants.

Course Description

A review of biomaterials, characterization of materials, metallic, ceramic and polymeric implant materials, composites, absorbable polymers, structure-property relationships of biological materials, testing structural properties of physicochemical tests and mechanical test, tissue response to implants.
