Course Objectives
With this course students, it is intended to give in-depth knowledge about the electromagnetic energy which is the main source of energy in Remote Sensing and its role in determining the properties of the Earth features. In addition to this, it is aimed to provide basic knowledge and skills needed to acquire the necessary and versatile information related to different types of objects using image statistics and the visual interpretation.
Course Description
This course gives an understanding of the physical basis (electromagnetic energy, the EM interactions with atmosphere and earth objects) and the basic knowledge related to the satellite sensor systems, digital image, vision and image interpretation elements etc. In this course some related subjects such as the application areas of remote sensing and main features of remote sensing images such as resolution are also given.
