Course Description
Facts about methane. Importance of methane in accordance to mine safety. Sampling for methane in mines and tunnel. Methane control at development excavations. Preventing methane ignitions at longwall faces. Coal seam degasification. Managing excess gas emissions associated with coal mine geologic features. Forecasting gas emissions for coal mine safety applications. Control of methane during coal mine shaft excavation. Explosion hazards of coal dust in the presence of methane. Methane control in metal-nonmetal mines. Preventing methane gas explosions during tunnel construction.
