Course Description

Basic concepts of human interactions that affect ecological systems. Basic concepts in landscape ecology that explains the interrelations between cultural and natural systems. Literature in ecological design. Definition of ecological design and historical perspective. Modernism, design and ecology. Contemporary approaches in ecological landscape design. Ecological performance in landscape design. Ecological design principles. Design solutions based on environmental performance in urban space.
