BLG 618E - Machine Translation

Course Objectives

Machine translation is one of the most important topics in the natural language processing field. It covers the usage of computers at each step of the translation process. Semi-automatic systems which provide assistance to human translators are also being developed as well as fully automatic translation systems. In this course, the roles of computers in the translation process, current researches and developments in the field of machine translation and detailed methods for automatic translation will be introduced.
