Course Objectives 1. To introduce basic topics, literature and scientific research methods regarding the history of measurement,
2. To introduce emergence of various units.
3. To learn how to measure various quantities in history and present.
4. To develop the ability to think theoretically and conceptually.
5. To develop the ability to communicate and discuss issues effectively.
6. To develop the ability to read and understand texts, make research and write.
Course Description The meaning of measuring, going metric, number and mathematics, customary units, instruments and techniques, measuring nature, measuring atoms, measuring earth, measuring universe, measuring man, measuring mind, measuring body, measuring society.
Course Outcomes Students who succeed in this course will improve their ability to;
1. Familiarize with methodology, literature, and approaches regarding the measurement in the world history.
2. Learn the emergence of various units,
3. Learn how different sizes are measured in history and today,
4. To develop the ability to read and understand texts, make research and write about measurement.
