Course Objectives In this course, it will be aimed that;
1-To detect “dance notation systems” in history of dance studies.
2-To understand “basic principles of dance notation systems which has been used for 20th-21th century.
3-To read and write basic level body movements of lower and upper extremity on Labanotation.
4-To read and write basic level body movements of lower and upper extremity on Romanotation.
5-To read and write basic level body movements of lower and upper extremity on MSNS.
Course Description Chronological perspectives on dance notation systems
Basic principles of dance notation systems which has been used for 20th-21th century.
Reading and writing examples of lower and upper extremity on Labanotation, Romanotation, and MSNS.
Course Outcomes Graduate students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge skills and competencies;
1-Knowledge about the chronological process of dance notation systems.
2-Knowledge about the basic principles of dance notation system which has been used for 20th-21th century.
3-Ability to read and write basic level examples on Labanotation, Romanotation, and MSNS.
4-Ability to explain the dance by scientific methods and written materials.
