Course Objectives
• To gain knowledge in musical periods in European music beginning from 17. Century in parallel with the developments of orchestra
• To gain competence about the Orchestration styles of examined periods and related transition periods
• To gain the ability to make analysis on the orchestration techniques of these periods
Course Description
Classic style and orchestration techniques of the transition period. Romantic and impressionistic style orchestration techniques.
Course Outcomes
Graduate students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge skills and competencies;
I. Knowledge in musical periods in European music beginning from 17th Century in parallel with the developments of orchestra
II. Knowledge about the Orchestration styles of studied periods and related transition periods
III. Competence on making analysis of the orchestration techniques of these periods
IV. Ability to make compared analysis between the orchestration techniques of these periods
