Course Objectives		• To gain knowledge about the musical trends of 20th century • To gain knowledge and competence about the music theories and composition techniques used in 20th century • To gain knowledge and ability about the notation systems used in 20th century and afterwards.
Course Description		The new trends in music are most widely known as 20th century music. In this respect the issues like serialism( before and after 1945 ), atonality, minimalism, neo romantism graphic notation
Course Outcomes		Graduate students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge skills and competencies; I. Knowledge about the musical trends of 20th century II. Abilitiy to recognize the music theories and composition techniques used in 20th century III. Competence of the notation systems used in 20 th century and afterwards. IV. Knowledge about some general knowledge about the musical trends like minimalism and neo romanticism that had been risen in the last quarter of 20th century.
