Course Objectives		1. To identify the significance of communication and the relations within music and mass media 2. To examine, research and result the interaction between music and mass media
Course Description		Mass media and music, and their affection in music. Musical culture. Musical identity. Society. Society and music. The effect of the mass media in community. Mass media and women, social aspects, feminist criticism, sex, popular culture, race relations. Social classes in mass media. The phenomenon of music and media. Media history from the perspective of social and cultural context. Mass media and music, sound recording industry.
Course Outcomes		Graduate students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge skills and competencies; I. Knowledge on the studies in Turkey and the world on the issue of influence and intertwined character of mass media and communication on music. Skill on comperative evaluation of those studies II. Knowledge on interdisciplinary studies in Turkey and the world. Skill on comperative evaluation of those studies III. Competency on scientific research and study IV.
