Course Objectives 1. Making sure that the student can access any kind of document and information in his/her
studies,
2. Introducing the types of documents, ways of using and problems,
3. Making sure that the student can reuse the documents and information in a scientific
context.
Course Description In this course, traditional sources of information and documentation, the changes and the
problems caused by technological and scientific developments in the information and
documentation systems, the material, field and at the contents, types of records, the usage of
information and documentation in scientific researches and its methodology are taught and
contemporary subjects like the freedom of access to records, respect to security and privacy,
other problems of usage, the methods researchers follow to sort are discussed.
Course Outcomes Students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge, skills and
competencies:
1. To gain access to the desired document and information most efficiently,
2. To learn the types of documents,
3. To learn the areas they can use different document types,
4. To learn to solve the problems they might encounter,
5. To analyze the documents and information to use in academic researches
