Course Objectives The course aims
1. To equip them with the basic production management concepts and tools necessary for understanding, designing, solving and interpreting the problems encountered in production / operations processes in manufacturing and service sectors.
2. to teach the techniques for the problems’ solution
3. to gain the ability to use these acquired concepts and techniques in managerial decision making
Course Description Production/Operation Concept, Production/Operations Management, Productivity, Proces Strategies, Design of goods &Services, Demand Forecasting, Capacity Management, Hierarchy of production planning Aggregate Production Planning, Location Selection, Layout Strategies, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, Project Management
Course Outcomes Students who successfully pass this course gain knowledge, skills and proficiency in the following subjects:
I. To be able to understand concepts and techniques in production / operations management
II. A managerial insight that will enable / support the fulfillment of operations management functions with the efficient use of labor, material, machinery and capital resources of the enterprise
III. Understanding the problems faced in operations management and finding solutions with production / operations management techniques
IV. Enhancing their managerial decision making skills by associating their knowledge and skills acquired in strategic and operational processes in operations management with practical real life problems
