Course Objectives • Provide information about the recent studies in ethnomusicology and to provide students to follow up the scientific agenda.
• Make research on various cultures of the world through different methods and contemporary approaches
Course Description Ethnomusicology studies after 1950. Theory and culture. Gender and sexuality. Race, ethnicity. Nationalism and transnationalism. Social and political actions. Globalization and globalization. Urbanization and subculture music in the urban. Place and embodiment. Performance theory Cultural tourism. Commodification and consumption Media, technology and technoculture. Popular Music. Applied ethnomusicology
Course Outcomes Graduate students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge skills and competencies;
I- Knowledge of recent ethnomusicology studies,
II- Skill on creating new ideas on fields of study in ethnomusicology,
III- Competency of comprehending the relationship between ethnomusicology and other social sciences with the recent events and trends
IV- Competency of providing new perspectives on social sciences through the case studies gained from the researches.
