Course Objectives
Miniature paintings usually represent the verbal expressions, but generally by adding more visual elements into the depiction with the help of the rich visual imagery of the painter (naqqash). This course aims to introduce the various illustrated manuscripts and to display the visual culture of the Islamic culture.
Course Description
Patrons, illustrated manuscripts, detached miniatures, the reasons of the production of these artistic manuscripts, the importance of illustrated histories, history and literature texts with miniatures will be examined. The verbal and visual content will be regarded in this context.
