Course Objectives
1. To introduce topics related to science, technology and society,
2. To examine, social reflections of different developments on science and technology,
3. To discuss contemporary science, technology and society issues,
4. To analyze social affects of science and technology developments in a historical perspective.
Course Description
Selected topics in science, technology and society: bioethics, climate change, computer, internet and society, food technology, music, technology and society, architecture, city planning and society, environment and society, management and society.
Course Outcomes
Students who succeed in this course will improve their ability to;
1. Evaluate science and technology in social context,
2. Analyze the contemporary scientific and technological problems that affect society,
3. Question the different products of science and technology that shape the societies in global scale,
4. Develop critical point of view to problems in science, technology and society.
