Course Objectives
The aim of the course;
1. To provide the students with information about basic subjects of maritime psychology.
2. To provide the students with information about the effects of the stressors on the ship on the psychology of the seafarers.
3. To give the students a perspective on stress management techniques on board.
4. To provide the students with information about the role of maritime psychology in the management of marine disasters.

Definition and development of psychology, Definition and scope of maritime psychology, Positive psychology in maritime, Seafarer well-being at sea, Psychology of ship architecture and design, Occupational stress and stress management in seafaring, Risk factors for fatigue and the consequences of fatigue for seafarers, Motion sickness susceptibility and management at sea, Cognitive psychology in maritime, Behavioral techniques in maritime, Disaster management and risk communication in maritime, Psychometric assessment in maritime, Ethical principles in maritime psychology, Modern trends in maritime psychology.
