Course Objectives		• To learn about ethnographic fieldwork methods. • To gain ability of ethnographic data collecting and analyzing. • To get information about recent debates regarding fieldwork and ethnography in ethnomusicology.
Course Description		Music anthropology. Ethnographic research process. Participant observation. Interview technics. Oral history. Writing ethnographic fieldnotes. Writing ethnography. ‘New’ fieldworks in ethnomusicology. Urban ethnography. Digital ethnography. Audiovisual ethnography. Multi-Sited ethnography. Project Presentations.
Course Outcomes		Graduate students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge skills and competencies; I.Knowledge of the fundamental concepts and philosophical bases of “field” and “field research” in social sciences, II.Knowledge of the fundamental research methods used in field research, III. Knowledge of archiving, analysing and discussing of the data collected in the field. IV. Knowledge of recent ethnographic research in the discipline of ethnomusicology
