Course Objectives

1 - Scrutinizing development process and problems of housing market
2 - Examining increase of population, housing demand and housing supply
3 - Understanding new policies produced with the idea of decreased housing shortages
4 - Scrutinizing spatial effects with examples of housing policy in the city system
5 - Discussing solutions of housing problems

Course Description

Increase in housing demand due to increase in urban population has caused new policies to be created in order to decrease housing shortages and these new policies have affected urban structures with new shapes. In this lesson, these new policies will be scrutinized; historical developments and problems in housing markets will be examined; world and turkish residential areas will be analyzed; conclusions and suggestions will be made.
