Course Objectives 1. Introducing the main products and actors of the architectural milieu between Antiquity and 17th century.
2. Encouraging historical, critical, and comparative thinking about the architecture of that period
Course Description The course deals with architectural history from Antiquity to the end of the 17th century. In this context, ornamentation, construction techniques, plan types and theoretical discussions will be held through monumental and civil architectural examples.
Course Outcomes Students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge, skills, and competencies:

1. Recognizing the main architectural products from Antiquity to the 17th century and placing them in their historical context
2. Understanding the role of social, political, economic, and cultural factors in the production of architecture
