Course Weekly Lecture Plan

Week Topic
Week 1 (02.10.2024): The introduction class will be held, and students will receive the "Text to Text: Mapping" assignment. In this task, students will read a book and identify the fundamental elements that define space. Using these elements, they will create a mapping that conveys the book's concept and spatial structure.
Week 2 (09.10.2024): Submission and discussion of the first assignment ("Text to Text: Mapping"). Mapping examples will be reviewed in class. Students will receive the "Text to Image: AI" assignment. In this task, students will use the information from their mapping and experiment with AI tools to generate spatial representations. Different text compositions and word combinations will be used to see how AI interprets the analyzed text into various spatial alternatives.
Week 3 (16.10.2024): Submission and discussion of the "Text to Image" assignment. Students will begin working on the "Image to Image: AI" assignment, where they will further develop and transform the previously generated images using AI tools. The goal is to approach the spatial atmosphere that the designer envisioned or felt while reading the book. The process involves merging the designer’s sensory perceptions with the AI-generated visuals, transforming and refining them.
Week 4 (23.10.2024): Submission and discussion of the "Image to Image" assignment. Afterward, students will receive the "Poster" assignment.
Week 5 (30.10.2024): Students will continue working on their poster assignment.
Week 6 (06.11.2024): Poster submission and discussion will take place. The class will cover poster design principles. Students will also receive the new assignment, "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly."
Week 7 (13.11.2024): Submission and discussion of "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" assignment. The main focus will be portfolio preparation. Students will begin gathering materials for their portfolios.
Week 8 (20.11.2024): Midterm break.
Week 9 (27.11.2024): Students will research example portfolios.
Week 10 (04.12.2024): Discussions on portfolio design will take place.
Week 11 (11.12.2024): Portfolio design discussions will continue.
Week 12 (18.12.2024): Portfolio design discussions will proceed.
